Whew!
That re-potting session took longer than I thought. My ponytail palm (that was still in the pot from the store) was in really crappy soil. I would’ve re-potted it sooner if I had realized.
I also realized rather late in the game that it was possible to separate the caudexes of the ponytail palm, and I decided rather impulsively to do so. The two biggest ones are in the big new pot I bought for the purpose; it wasn’t possible to completely untangle the roots, but they’re now several inches apart. The smaller ones are each in their own pots. I hope this will improve the health of the plants.
I still have an echeveria that needs re-potted, but it will have to wait for another day. It’s going into the pot that the other plant came out of. Ha!
My windowsill, finals week (December). Soon I will be back at school, see my friends again, and have my plants back!
Hopefully I will have a schefflera cutting to add to my collection. The first one grew new leaves and rooted, but then mysteriously bit the dust. I took another cutting from my dad’s plant, and I think it has roots already!
I also hope my echeveria and Sedum morganianum cuttings have grown while in the care of the greenhouse people. I’ll have pictures and updates of them when I’m back :)
Artsy-fartsy back-lit photo of my Haworthia attenuata, with a part of my Bucarnea recurvata (ponytail palm) behind it and my other haworthia to the side.

- Crassula ovata ‘gollum’ (Gollum Jade, Spoon Jade)
- Sedum morganianum (Donkey’s/burro’s tail)
- Echeveria ‘lola’
- Sedum ‘Joyce Tulloch’? (maroon, upright)
- Adenium obesum (Desert rose)
- Plectranthus coleoides ‘Cerveza ‘n Lime’
